After a mixed summer of English weather when all sections got OUT and ABOUT as much as possible the autumn nights are unfortunately beginning to draw in. However you can be assured that we will still be getting all the members out and about as much as possible. The Scouts have already contested the Grose Trophy, teams from both troops took part and a team from Idmiston came joint 3rd. The cubs have taken part in the District Challenge Flag Competition, the equivalent competition to the scout Grose Trophy and I am pleased to report that they won! They will also be investing their 12 new recruits whilst on a hike on the last evening of half term. The beavers are planning a Campfire at which their 15 new recruits! are going to be invested. As I write four members from the Scout troop and Explorer unit are spending a weekend camping at the County HQ. They are on a selection weekend to choose the 40 members for the contingent going to the World Scout Jamboree in America in 2019.
